Linda L. Krueger, 81, died peacefully on Sunday, December 31, 2023 surrounded
by her family.
Linda was born on October 30, 1942 in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the daughter of the
late Howard and Marion (Froelich) Shepardson. She grew up in Green Bay and
moved to Plymouth with her family in 1958. Linda graduated from Plymouth High
School in 1960. After high school, Linda decided to become a teacher, continuing
her education at the Sheboygan County Teachers College and Marian College.
Linda truly loved teaching and spent most of her career, which spanned nearly
four decades, working as a first-grade teacher in the Elkhart-Lake Glenbeulah
School District. She always spoke fondly of her students and fellow teachers.
On September 29, 1962, she married Milton Krueger at St. John the Baptist
Catholic Church in Plymouth. Linda and Milton lived on South Street in Plymouth
for nearly forty years where they raised two daughters, Paula and Gina. Her
husband preceded her in death on December 14, 1992.
Linda loved her family and friends, and was active in her community. She loved
playing golf, camping with family, traveling with friends, and caring for her flowers
each summer. Linda was an avid Packers fan and spent many Sundays pacing her
living room while cheering on the team. Most of all, she enjoyed attending the
athletic activities of her children and grandchildren and attended almost all of
their games over the years, including away games. Linda was also a devout
Catholic and attended weekly mass at St. John the Baptist.
Linda is survived by: her daughters Paula (James) Suemnicht, Fond Du Lac; Gina
(Bob) Grapentine, Plymouth; one brother Mike (Barbara) Shepardson, Howard;
one sister Leslie (Gene) Davis, Sheboygan; five grandchildren, Kara (Aaron)
Krueger, Marissa, Brady, Emma and Andrew Grapentine; and one great-
grandchild, Sophia Schiffrik.
Linda is further survived by: Five sisters-in-law: Marilyn Carpenter, Irene
Boeslager, LaVerne Czarniecki, Geraldine Dessloch, Barb (Lee) Pozun; as well as
many cherished nieces, nephews, and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents Howard and Marion Shepardson, her
father and mother-in-law Daniel Sr. and Olive Krueger; Brothers-in-law: Daniel Jr.,
LeRoy Stahl, Vernon Wallace, Jim Carpenter, Jack Boeselager, Russell Krueger,
Harry Czarnecki, and Richard Dessloch. Sisters-in-law: Lorraine Stahl and Bernice
Wallace.
