Weather likely played a role in a Thursday evening crash in Calumet County. The Sheriff’s Office there says that there was poor visibility due to rain falling just before 5 p.m. when a pickup truck westbound on State Highway 114 in the Village of Harrison struck a pedestrian that was in the roadway. That person, a 40-year-old woman from Fox Crossing, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup, a 40-year-old man from Sherwood, wasn’t injured.
The crash remains under investigation and names won’t be released until relatives are notified.
