Robert C. Braun, age 86, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 18,
2023, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
He was born on January 31, 1937, in Sheboygan to the late Robert and Emily (Krimel) Braun.
Emily died shortly after Robert’s birth and his father later married Helen Pausha. He graduated
from Central High School, class of 1955 and continued his education at Sheboygan UW
Extension. He completed a painting and decorating apprenticeship, becoming a journeyman. He
was employed for over 35 years at Sheboygan Glass Company, until his retirement. On April 13,
1957, Robert was united in marriage to Jean Ann Kreuter at First Congregational, United Church
of Christ in Sheboygan, where they are both lifelong members. Robert had been active in the
church after joining in 1963, serving as a deacon, trustee, usher, Christian education teacher,
and a member of the building and grounds committee. Robert proudly served in the Army
National Guard for 11 years. Robert was a life member of the Sheboygan Elk’s Club.
Due to his vision loss, Robert retired early, but that did not stop him from enjoying the game of
golf, even acing hole #3 at Town & Country. He also enjoyed bowling, reading, and traveling
extensively with his wife Jean, family and friends. Robert was an inspiration to those who knew
his story. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jean; daughters, Pamela (Jeffrey) Crneckiy Bonnie (David)
Widder; grandchildren, Emily (Steven) Balde and Joseph Crneckiy; great-grandchildren, Connor,
Emmett, and Harper Balde; sister-in-law, Carol Pausha; nieces and nephews, Karen (Tom) Bird,
Kurt Kreuter, Barabara (Tim) Schmidt, Holly (Marina Coleridge) Kreuter, Jack, Christopher, and
Stephanie Kreuter, Brad (Ann) Pausha, Greg (Carol) Pausha and Donna Kreuter; special cousins,
Elizabeth Schauer, Judith Curry, and James Brodhagen and a grand dog, Bobby; other family and
friends further survive.
Along with his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his brother, John Pausha; father and
mother-in-law, Theodore (Amanda) Kreuter and brothers and sister-in-law, James (Martha)
Kreuter and Jack Kreuter; special cousins, Helen Cerney and Karl Braun.
A Funeral Service with military honors for Robert will be held at NOON on Friday, December 29,
2023, at First Congregational Church, United Church of Christ, 310 Bluff Ave. in Sheboygan, with
Pastor Jim Hollister officiating. Family will greet visitors at church on Friday from 10:00 AM until
the time of service. Burial will take place at Wildwood Cemetery. For those who are not able to

A memorial fund has been established in Robert’s name.
