Sheri Lee Wocelka, 74, of Sheboygan, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Thursday,
December 14, 2023 at her home. She was born on July 13, 1949 in Sheboygan to the late Lee and Jean
(Schmitz) Wick. Sheri graduated from Sheboygan South High School. On May 13, 1994, she was united
in marriage to Jay Wocelka in Sheboygan, and spent the last 30 years as his devoted and loving wife,
otherwise known as “my little Sheri Bob.”
Mom would always light up the room with her infectious smile. Since retirement, mom looked forward to
spending her winters in the beautiful Florida sunshine enjoying the beaches, sun sets and new
friendships. She enjoyed their weekend trips in their convertibles either alone or with a group of friends.
She also looked forward to her summers so she could enjoy camping with lifelong friends she had made
over the past 30 years. As a woman of faith, she strongly believed in the power of prayer. Mom was
nurturing and kind and always welcomed anyone into her family and home. She rescued her beloved cat
Lester from the campground and proceeded to give him a wonderful life. Most of all, she loved spending
time with her family and friends, making beautiful memories. As a mother, not only did she instill morals
and values, she also taught her daughters the importance of empathy and kindness to others. Her role as
a grandmother brought immeasurable joy to mom.
Sheri is survived by her loving husband Jay, daughters Jackie Scheidt (Destinie Thede) and Jenny
(Greg) Schmidt, two brothers Tom (Pennie), and Jim Wick, and one sister Mary Jo Schupp (Larry
Gordon). Step-kids Raya (Jeff) Clements, Travis (Jess) Wocelka, and Tyler Wocelka. She is further
survived by her grandchildren Kaylee, Jamie, Lauren, Owen, Crew, Colton, and Ellie and many nieces
and nephews of whom she adored as her own.
Along with her parents, mom is preceded in death by her sisters Luann Schramm and Marla Wick.
A memorial service for mom will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Zimmer
