David Schmitz

David J. Schmitz, age 60, passed away on December 12, 2023, at Froedtert Hospital in Menonomee
Falls, WI.
He was born on March 10, 1963, a son of the late Joseph and Dorothy (Dwyre) Schmitz.
David loved fishing, growing up on the farm and the farm animals, gardening in his younger years,
feeding and watching the birds, and watching sports, especially the Packers, Brewers, and Bucks.
He was under the care of Homes for Independent Living and developed many close friendships
with his caregivers over the years, most recently with Ola Awosika at Nouvelle in Milwaukee.
Survivors include: Sister, Karen Schmitz; Sister-in-law, Christine Schmitz; Nephew, Michael
Schmitz Jr.; Niece, Jessica Steinke; Guardian and dear friend, Carol Williams; As well as other
relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Michael Schmitz.
A visitation to share stories and memories of David will be held on Wednesday (December 20,
2023) from 4:00-6:00pm at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Cremation will take place and
he will be buried with his parents at St. Michael’s Cemetery in the Town of Mitchell.
