Two persons lost their lives on Thursday afternoon in a car-semi collision northwest of Sheboygan.
Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Lieutenant James Gottsacker said the Sheboygan County Emergency Dispatch Center began receiving calls shortly after 3:30 p.m. on Thursday regarding a semi-tractor trailer that had flipped at the intersection of State Highway 32 and County Highway “J” in the Town of Sheboygan Falls. Further calls indicated that there could be two other vehicles involved.
Sheriff’s deputies and two Orange Cross Ambulances were sent immediately to the scene where preliminary investigation showed only two vehicles were involved. A 2017 Jeep Cherokee was being driven west on “J” by a 67-year-old Town of Sheboygan woman who had stopped at 32, and then proceeded into the path of a southbound 2002 Kenworth semi operated by a 26-year-old man from Denmark, Wisconsin, striking the Jeep and then overturning. A total of eight agencies converged on the scene, including the Sheboygan County Medical Examiner.
Both the operator of the Jeep and her 37-year-old passenger, also of the town of Sheboygan, died of their injuries at the scene. The investigation continues, and the names of the deceased will be released sometime after 10 a.m. Friday.
UPDATE: The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office has identified the two victims as 67-year-old Debra A. Krueger, and 37-year-old Jennifer L. Rozek.
