A professional golfer from Kohler’s Whistling Straits golf course has been named the Assistant Player of the Year by the Wisconsin Section of the Professional Golfers’ Association of America. Dave Bach, who serves golfers at Sheboygan County’s best-known golf course, was conferred the honor on Monday, and becomes only the fourth Wisconsin PGA assistant professional to win at least three titles. His winning margin was also the largest for an assistant since 2017, and the win maintains a longstanding friendly rivalry with second-place pro Josh Grisa, also of Kohler, who won the honor last year. The two have held an iron grip on the award, having alternated as titleholder since 2019.
The top honor of Player of the Year was given to Michael Crowley of Morningstar Golfers Club of Waukesha, while Mick Smith of his namesake golf course in Summit was named Senior Player of the Year.
