
Florence (nee Mueller) Blanke, age 95, passed away November 17, 2023 at Aurora Hospice in
Sheboygan, surrounded by her loving family and caregiver. Florence was born on March 21, 1928 in
Plymouth , WI, a daughter of the late Albert and Flora (Zerler) Mueller. She graduated from Plymouth
High School in 1946.
In 1948, Florence married the love of her life, Melvin Blanke. Florence and Melvin worked together
raising mink and chinchillas on their fur farm in Plymouth. She was active in school, church and
community services as well as fur farm organizations.
Florence and Melvin both loved attending school and sporting events for their grandchildren. They also
enjoyed caring for the grandchildren and having overnight stays and adventures with them. Florence
was a wonderful cook and was happiest when cooking for family and friends at the lake house. She also
enjoyed traveling with Melvin. They were blessed to have had many memories from their trips and
cruises around the world.
Her loving husband, Melvin, preceded her in death on June 28, 2015. Florence is survived by her
children: Son, Mel Blanke (Kathleen Roberts); Daughters, Diane (Jim) Potter, Patti (Jim) Wachter and
Kathy (Kevin) Andrews. In additions, Florence is survived by the greatest joys of her life, her
grandchildren, Sarah Blanke-Grummert; Beth Potter (Faisal Aziz); Jessica (Emmet) Reilly; Ryan (Angie)
Wachter; Evan (Kari) Wachter; Kyle (Sarah) Andrews; Ian (Laura) Andrews; and Mallory (Don) Andrews
Ekern. She was also survived by nine (plus one on the way) beautiful great-grandchildren, Oscar, Aisha,
Niamh and Roisin, Palmer, Channing and Callaway, Eleanor and Emelyn and baby Ekern. She is further
survived by brother-in-law and wife; Elroy (Audrey) Blanke. Florence was preceded in death by her
parents, sister Ruth (Ray) Watson, also in-laws; Dorothy (Harry) Comins, Dar (Betty) Blanke, Anita (Jerry)
Rosolek, Bob (Bernice) Blanke and Caroline Blanke.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon (November 30, 2023) at 4:00 P.M. at the Suchon
Funeral Home in Plymouth. Rev. James Hoppert, pastor of Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth
will officiate. Burial will be in the Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Thursday (Nov. 30) at the Suchon Funeral Home from 2:00 P.M. until the time of
services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Florence’s name.

Florence will be deeply missed by family and friends. The family would like to extend its appreciation to
Sodgerel “Soda”, who was Florence’s loving in home care companion and who aided her with her health
issues for the last 3 years. The family also appreciates Dianna, Pat and Bobby who all helped provide
loving care for Florence.
