Kenneth John Schaap, age 84, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully at Sharon S. Richardson Community
Hospice on November 4, 2023.
He was born in Sheboygan on May 2, 1939, to the late William and Bernice (Widder) Schaap. Ken
graduated from Sheboygan Falls H.S. in 1957 and served in the United States Air Force from 1957-1961.
On April 8, 1967, he married Kathleen Curtiss at Salem U.C.C. in Plymouth.
Ken was a devoted employee of Kohler Company for 39 years, retiring in 2000.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards. Most of all, Ken loved spending time with his family,
especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include: His wife, Kathy; Children: Dawn (Steve) Strehlow of Plymouth and Dean (Dawn)
Schaap of Sheboygan Falls; Grandchildren: Christopher (Marissa) Strehlow, Collin Strehlow (Fiancee:
Eme Stangenes), and Cade Strehlow (special friend, Maranda LaFrenier); Great grandchildren: Oliver and
Josie; Brother, Richard (Lorraine) Schaap of Sheboygan Falls; Brother-in-law, Ron Bloemers of Plymouth;
Sister-in-law, Maureen Rudebeck of Plymouth; As well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents and other relatives.
Memorial Services will be held on Thursday (November 9, 2023) at the Suchon Funeral Home in
Plymouth. Visitation will take place from 2:00-4:00pm, with a service to follow at 4:00pm. Rev. James
Hoppert of Salem U.C.C. will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Ken’s name to Salem U.C.C. or Sharon Richardson Hospice.
