The pilot who lost his life when his plane went down in Manitowoc county last week has been identified as 57-year-old Steven Walker. The pilot, and lone occupant of the plane, was from Keller, Texas. He was reported missing by the FAA when Walker failed to arrive at his destination last Wednesday.
A resident of rural Manitowoc County who lives about 6 miles north of the City reported hearing something Wednesday night, but when a search turned up nothing he assumed it was from a nearby industry. However a search the next morning turned up that plane, nose-down in about 18 feet of water in a pond.
The NTSB is continuing the investigation.
