Data released Wednesday by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development showed a nearly uniform pattern of trends across the state.

71 Wisconsin counties saw decreasing unemployment rates over the last month while one county went unchanged. Only one Wisconsin county saw a year-over-year decrease.
The Sheboygan Metro Area had a workforce of 63,300 in September, down 300 from the previous month. Unemployment in the Sheboygan Metro Area was 2.8% in September, down from 3.1% in August. That compares with 2.5% last year.
The City of Sheboygan saw an unadjusted unemployment rate of 3.2% in September. That’s down from 3.5% in August, but up from 2.7% in September of 2022.
Sheboygan County’s unemployment rate for September was 2.8%, down one-third from August’s 3.1%, but also up one-third since last September’s 2.5% rate.
