DAIRY NEWS –The state of California features a most unique mix of geological landscapes, productive natural resources, progressive farmers and ag businesses, and nine of the country’s national parks – more than any other state. In February 2024, fifty PDPW dairy farmer members will have the opportunity to see some of these sites and more on the 2024 Experience California Tour.
“They say, ‘Go West!’ and PDPW is putting together an incredible program that includes the World Ag Expo and tours to top-notch dairies and creameries,” said Shelly Mayer, PDPW Executive Director and Slinger, Wis., dairy producer. “In addition, we’ll explore some of the natural beauty California has to offer – Yosemite National Park, Napa Valley and more. Attend with your spouse for a very unique week and the perfect balance of business and pleasure.”
The tour is scheduled for Feb. 11 through 17, 2024, beginning and ending in Sacramento, California. The full schedule of activities provides a stress-free way to experience the best of California agriculture, innovation and beauty.
Tour highlights include:
- Tour top dairies, including Vierra Dairy and their Boviteq California IVF facility, Rosa Brothers Dairy and Milk Company, and Maddox Dairy.
- Tour Hilmar Cheese Company.
- Explore the majesty of Yosemite National Park.
- Spend an entire day at the World Ag Expo in Tulare, featuring more than 1,200 exhibitors.
- Tour Sisk Dam and Romero Visitor Center to learn about California’s massive water storage and delivery system.
- Tour and taste wines at Michael David Winery and Gloria Ferrer Wines.
- Spend the afternoon at your leisure in Napa Valley.
The tour package includes six nights of hotel accommodations; ground transportation via comfortable, modern motorcoach; daily breakfast, four lunches, four dinners and wine-tasting experiences; entrance fees; and all end-of-tour gratuities for tours and coach driver. The tour package does not include flight tickets, enabling each traveler the flexibility to arrive and depart at their preference.
