The body of a person reported missing since last Wednesday in Washington County has been located. Washington County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Jason Guslick says that they received a call shortly before 2 p.m. on Sunday from a citizen who was boating on Pike Lake, and advised they believed they located the person submerged under water.
Sheriff’s Deputies along with members of the Washington County Dive Rescue Team responded and located the subject a short distance offshore in about 6 feet of water between the beach area and boat ramp at Pike Lake State Park. The subject was positively identified as the 80-year-old man who’s wife reported him missing after going boating on the lake last Wednesday and not returning. A search turned up the empty boat, but it would take until yesterday to locate his remains. The name of the victim was not released, and the case remains under investigation.
