Representative Ty Bodden has announced the winner of the First Responder-of-the-Year honor for the 59th Assembly District. He is Sergeant Paul Oosterhouse who now works at the John C. Burke Correctional Center in Waupun.
Among his several previous assignments, Oosterhouse had also worked at the Kettle Moraine Correctional Institution in Greenbush before transferring to the Dodge Correctional Institution where he joined the Emergency Response Unit and served as a CPR Instructor for 11 years. Oosterhouse then provided those services as well as being a volunteer QPR Suicide Prevention Coordinator for 12 years at Taycheedah before finally locating to Waupun.
Oosterhouse was recognized by Representative Bodden during ceremonies in Madison on Tuesday.
