Two of four area first responders have been named so far as honorees for their service as the Wisconsin State Assembly celebrates the best in each district. Ceremonies were held Monday in Madison.
Plymouth Fire and Rescue’s Assistant Chief Rory Beebe was named the First Responder of the Year in the 27th District. Beebe began as an EMT for Plymouth Ambulance Service in 1980, and among his notable achievements are as a CPR trainer and key organizer of a mass casualty drill to prepare for large-scale emergencies.
Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Lieutenant Travis Aleff was recognized as First Responder of the Year for the 25th District. Aleff was named for his service that included creating that office’s drone program last year, for his volunteer work with youth, and for his many other roles in the community.
Information for the 59th and 26th Assembly Districts has not yet been made available by their representatives.
