Mark E. Johnson, age 75 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
Mark was born August 21, 1948 in Des Moines, IA, the son of Clifford and Violet (Hiles) Johnson. The family later moved to the Florissant/St. Louis area. After school, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He worked at Tecumseh until their closure in 2003, and later at Bemis Manufacturing, retiring in 2013.
On March 1, 2002, he was united in marriage with Lyndel Losing (DeTroye) in Las Vegas.
An avid racing enthusiast, Mark was a Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty fan and after Mark finished racing at Plymouth Dirt Track, he enjoyed time spent on Randy Marquardt’s pit crew. He was a longtime member of the Sheboygan County Motorcycle Club, loved Halloween, and enjoyed playing card and board games, doing puzzles, playing cribbage with friends, and sharing a game of pinball with his grandkids. A proud grandpa, he looked forward to supporting his grandkids at all their activities. His family will remember his sassy sense of humor and his stubbornness.
Mark is survived by his wife Lyndel and three daughters: Brenda (Nicholas) Konz, Dawn Beimel (Paul Sippel) and Bobbi Jo (David) Nowak; grandchildren: Kaitlyn Downs, Vada and Jeric Beimel and Journy, Alicia and Kirsten Nowak.
