Eleanor M. Dillenburg, age 93, (formerly of Mundelein, IL), passed away at Hospice Home of Hope in
Fond du Lac, WI on September 26, 2023, surrounded by her loving husband and family.
Ellie was born in Chicago on September 21, 1930, to her loving parents, Peter and Anna Timmermann.
On September 15, 1951, she married William Dillenburg at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Chicago.
Faith and family were most important to Eleanor. She loved getting together with her family and, as a
devout Catholic, was an active member at Santa Maria del Popolo Catholic Parish in Mundelein for many
years. She also volunteered in the community in many different ways.
She loved to garden and will always be remembered for her great cooking.
Survivors include: husband, William; children: Bill (Donna) Dillenburg of Antioch, IL, and Terri (Dave)
Endres of Plymouth; four grandchildren: Matthew (Katie) Endres, Amy Otto, Bradley (Heather) Endres,
Steven Otto; four great-grandchildren: Hannah, Collin, Owen, and John Paul; sister, Irmgard Neal of
Franklin, WI; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Eleanor was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Ann (Dillenburg) Otto; granddaughter, Tonya
Converse; sisters: Margaret, Elizabeth, and Elvira; along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday (October 19, 2023) at Holy Family Catholic Parish, 271 4th
Street Way, Fond Du Lac, WI 54937. Visitation will take place from 3-5pm, with Mass to follow at 5pm.
Services in Illinois will be held on Friday (October 20, 2023) from 10:00am-12:00pm at Kristan Funeral
Home, 219 W Maple Ave, Mundelein, IL 60060. Burial will be at Ascension Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested in Eleanor’s name to Catholic Charities, SSM Hospice, SSM
Hospice Home of Hope in Fond du Lac.
