Delmar R. Carriveau, age 91, of Sheboygan passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on
September 29, 2023. He was born in Sheboygan on November 8, 1931, to the late Wilfred and Loretta
(Haen) Carriveau. He attended Central High. Delmar proudly served his country in the United States Air
Force.
On January 24, 1953, Del was united in marriage to Laura Schmidt. She preceded him in death on June
18, 2019. Del and Laura were members of Trinity Lutheran Church of Sheboygan. Del started his working
career tending to fruits and vegetables at Charlie’s Market in Sheboygan. He then worked for many
years at Vollrath Company while also working for Piggly Wiggly. In retirement, he enjoyed volunteering
at Bethesda Thrift Store in Sheboygan.
He loved spending time at the cottage on Lake Ellen, watching sports, and was an avid fisherman. He will
be deeply missed.
Delmar is survived by his children, Larry (Cindy), Daniel (Carol), Warren (Gina), and Claudette (Tim)
Rammer; grandchildren; Ehren (Linda) Carriveau, Amy (Matt) Fricke, Nicole Busch, Carissa (Tyler) Ott,
Gina (Ben) Smith, April (Tim) Piatek, Ashley (Russell) Thomas, Eulalia, Josiah and Naomi, great-
grandchildren; Riley and Elliot Fricke, Sabine Busch, Natalie and Ethan Ott, Arianna, Alivia, RJ, Rylan,
Roman Thomas and River Smith; a brother Wayne (Phyllis) Carriveau; nieces, nephews, other family and
friends.
Along with his parents and wife, Delmar was preceded in death by a brother Charles (Maryann)
Carriveau; great-granddaughters, Kaitlyn and Hannah Ott and brothers-in-law, Donald (Fran) Schmidt
and Jerry (Jo) Schmidt.
A private family service for Delmar will take place. Memorials can be made in Delmar's name to Sharon
S. Community Hospice.
The family would like to thank Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for the care given to Del.
He was blessed to have also been cared for by Larry and Cindy in their home. The rest of the family is
very thankful for their loving care provided to Del.
