Kelsie Ernst, age 33, of Waldo, WI, passed away on September 19, 2023 at her home surrounded by her
loving family, following a three year courageous battle with melanoma.
She was born on March 31, 1990 in Sheboygan, WI, a daughter to Ronald and Nancy (Morgan) Ernst.
Kelsie attended St. John Lutheran Grade School in Sherman Center and graduated from Random Lake
High School in 2008. After high school she went on to attend UW Madison, graduating in 2013 with a
Bachelor of Science in Biology. Kelsie decided to pursue nursing and started working at Aurora Grafton
Hospital as a CNA. She attended LTC for nursing school, graduating in 2017 and UW Milwaukee to
become an RN, graduating in 2018 and continued to work at Aurora Grafton Hospital.
Kelsie loved traveling, especially with her best friend, Brooke. She was a true Wisconsin Sports fan who
loved watching the WI Badgers and Green Bay Packers. She enjoyed camping, reading, and playing
games like trivia and sheepshead.
Survivors include her parents, Ron and Nancy Ernst of Waldo; siblings, Andrea (Jeff) Berg of Oneida,
Joshua (Stacey) Vorpahl of Milwaukee, Katie (Miranda) Ernst of New Berlin, and Kristie Ernst (fiancé Luke
Yenter) of Waupaca; nieces and nephews, Braeden, Taran, Kian, Morgan, Esa, and Jonah; and her loving
golden doodle, Ghost who was a very important member of her family.
She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Kelsie had an enormous heart, great sense of humor, and was filled to the brim with knowledge. She will
be remembered for her big heart that she shared with her family and friends. She truly loved each of
them.
Visitation will be held on Monday (September 25) at St. John Lutheran Church in Sherman Center
(Random Lake) from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM; with a memorial service to follow at 5:00 PM. Rev. Christopher
Gillespie, Pastor of the Church will officiate.
In lieu of flower, a memorial fund is being established in Kelsie’s name for Aurora Cancer Center in
Grafton.
