An organization that matches rescue dogs with at-risk veterans has a new director. Tammy Graf was recently named executive director of Dogs2DogTags, which saves at-risk, rescued or donated dogs, trains them, and places the dogs with deserving service members who have been diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or other mental health issues. The match is done at no cost to the veteran, and the pairing has been shown to be an effective step in the efforts to prevent suicide.
Graf takes her new position after 10 years managing corporate giving, employee stewardship and community relations at Masters Gallery Foods in Plymouth, and also served four years as director of workforce development at the Sheboygan County Chamber of Commerce. At Dogs2DogTags, Graf will manage operations while heading up the organization’s fundraising, corporate and donor relations and marketing.
Dogs2DogTags’ founder and president, Torre Willadsen, said that Graf is “a strong leader and the right person to lead D2DT” as it now moves forward with an expanded kennel and training center expansion that is planned this fall.
