Wayne Grunwald, age 87, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, after he
fought a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born in Sheboygan on July 30, 1936 to the late Erwin and Serena (Wagner) Grunwald. He
graduated from Central High School in 1954. Wayne proudly served his country in the United States
Army from 1954 until 1956 and then served one year in the National Guard. On September 7, 1957,
Wayne married Ann Kuhlow in Sheboygan Falls. He was a lifelong member of St. Marks UCC, where he
served two terms on the consistory and also was on the cemetery board for many years. He operated
the family farm for over 30 years. Wayne was also a machinist at Hayssen Manufacturing for 13 years
and drove for Roehl Transport for ten.
Wayne was a jack of many trades and loved the challenge of learning something new. He was the
designer and general contractor of building their earth home. He loved life, woodworking, traveling,
especially road trips, dancing, card playing, attending the county fair, making firewood, but most of all
his family and faith meant the world to him.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife, Ann; children, Joan Baganz, Glenn (Terri) Grunwald, Michael (Carol)
Grunwald, Todd (Stacy) Grunwald, Kurt (Sandy) Grunwald, David (Tammy) Grunwald; grandchildren,
Robert (Margarita) Baganz, Patrick (Holly) Baganz, Sara (Pete) Christy, Mark (Francesca) Grunwald,
Andrew (Elizabeth) Grunwald, Dan Grunwald, Lucy Grunwald, Jacob Grunwald, Ben Grunwald, Katharine
Grunwald, John Grunwald, Luke Grunwald, Peter Grunwald, Alex Grunwald, Andrea Grunwald, Adam
Grunwald, Faith Grunwald, and Bradley Grunwald; 7 great-grandchildren, Avet, Caleb, Logan, Jackson,
Autumn, Serena, and Leah; a brother, Roy (Karen) Grunwald; nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Along with his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by an infant son, Gary Grunwald.
A Memorial Service for Wayne will take place at 11:30 AM on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at St.
Marks UCC, W1307 Orchard Rd. in Cleveland with Pastor Patrick Schultz officiating. Family will greet
visitors at church from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.

The family is thankful for the dedicated care from Dr. Barnes, Dr. Bettag, and Amy Clark, along with the
staff at Sheboygan Cancer & Blood Specialists. They are also grateful for our pastor Patrick Schultz,
family and friends that are praying with us and for us. The care shown from the Howards Grove and
