
Michael A. Grunewald, 48, of Howards Grove, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023
at his home. He was born November 28, 1974 in Sheboygan to Steven H. and Lucinda M.
(Roscoe) Grunewald. Michael graduated from Lightfoot School in Sheboygan Falls with the
Class of 1996.
Michael participated in day services at RCS. He enjoyed going everyday. Michael had a good
sense of humor and could be mischievous. Going to Camp Evergreen was something he looked
forward to doing every summer. Michael loved to travel. One of his favorite trips was going to
Disney World to see his favorite, Donald Duck. Michael was an honorary member of the Jr.
Brass color guard and marching unit. He also enjoyed playing with matchbox cars especially
tractors and trailers, sitting outside with his binoculars, camping and trying to catch butterflies.
Even though Michael was nonverbal, he knew how to get his point across.
Michael is survived by his mom and step-dad Cindy and Mark Brown, his father and stepmother
Steven and Barb Grunewald, brothers Douglas (Linnea) Grunewald and Andrew (Megan)
Grunewald, four nephews Tehrin, Holden, Chase, and Quintin Grunewald, and niece Jade
Grunewald. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and special cousin Amy
Portschy. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Robert and Dolores Roscoe, Harvey
and MaryAnn Grunewald, uncle David Roscoe and cousin Angela Grunewald.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Zimmer Westview
Funeral & Cremation Care Center, W2132 Garton Rd. Sheboygan, with Pastor Richard York
officiating. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Relatives and friends may visit with
the family on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the
FUNERAL HOME. If you are unable to join the family for his service it will be livestreamed on
Michael’s obituary page on the funeral home website.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund will be established in Michael’s name.
