MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Washington Nationals avoided getting swept on Sunday, beating the Milwaukee Brewers 2-1 in eleven innings at American Family Field.
The game was tied at one run apiece in the top of the 11th until Joey Meneses powered a sacrifice fly which scored CJ Abrams. Robert Garcia shut down Milwaukee in the bottom half of the frame to secure the victory.
Luis Garcia went two-for-four with a solo homer for Washington.
Carlos Santana drove in the lone run for Milwaukee, which slipped to 84-65.
The Crew will now head to St. Louis for a four-game series with the Cardinals. Game one is Monday night with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 6:10.
