There was lots of support from the public, and nobody spoke against a proposed collective bargaining agreement at last night’s meeting of the Sheboygan Area School District Board. A public input session saw several speakers praising the district’s teachers, setting the stage for a closed session during which that collective bargaining agreement – already recommended for approval – was given a closer look by the board, which approved the proposal by a unanimous vote once they re-convened in the open session. The new agreement with teachers includes a 4% increase in the base wage settlement.
Also approved on Tuesday night was a supplemental compensation package for support staff, teachers, and administrators in the form of a stipend for all employment groups, established earlier this year at a 4% rate. That proposal passed with only board member Mark Mancl not voting in the affirmative.
