A fire did about $10,000 damage to a south side Sheboygan home overnight. The Sheboygan Fire Department responded by sending 11 units to the home in the 1600 block of South 12th Street just a few minutes past midnight, and found smoke coming from the basement of the building. The occupants had already left the home and were outside.
SFD crews made what was labeled an “aggressive attack” on the fire with hose lines, and quickly brought the fire under control, but not until the building sustained some $10,000 in damages. Three persons were displaced by the fire.
No initial cause of the blaze was identified, and it remains under investigation. There were no injuries to report during the operation, which took around 80 minutes to complete.
