Sylvia Stephanie (Tevsh) Haneman, 91, of Sheboygan, passed away on September 2, 2023. Sylvia was born to the late Joseph and Mary Tevsh on November 22, 1931 in Sheboygan. Sylvia graduated from Sheboygan Central High School. Throughout her life Sylvia was employed at several banking institutions, Trilling Hardware and retired from Wisconsin Public Service. She was a veracious reader, loved collecting antiques and angel figurines and enjoyed listening to music and “dancing”.
Those who knew Sylvia, knew that if you walked beside her, you would be in running mode! She never let any grass grow under her feet. She worked very hard all of her life. She never ceased in her appreciation of all God’s gifts of nature; the night sky, Lake Michigan, walking the shoreline, collecting rocks and watching birds. Her pride and joy were her marvelous gardens that she designed and planted, and we all know that her special room in Heaven will look like them.
Sylvia is survived by her children, David, Tim, Tom and Mary (Bob); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Jenny Starrett, Rose LeBlanc, Elizabeth Schweikert and Mary Ann (Stuart) Bawden and sister-in-law LeAnn Tevsh.
She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Joe (Nancy), Laddy, Mike and Edward Tevsh; sister, Steffie (Bob) Post; brothers-in-law, Bob Starrett and Tom Schweikert.
There will be a private celebration of Sylvia’s life. A memorial fund is being established in Sylvia’s name at RCS Empowers, Inc., 1607 Geele Ave., Sheboygan, WI 53083, or to donor’s choice.
In closing, one last thing we can hear her say, “See ya later alligator.”
Beautiful tribute!
