Concerns ran high for a time on Sunday as a person was reported missing in Lake Michigan. The report that 17-year-old Jayvion Kelly was last seen off the shore of Sheboygan’s King Park came in shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday, prompting a search effort by the Sheboygan Police Department, US Coast Guard, Sheboygan Fire Department and the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office.
Good news didn’t take long, as reports that Kelly had been found uninjured were issued shortly after 7 p.m. The National Weather Service had issued advisories of a “Moderate” swim risk for Sheboygan County beaches on Sunday. That risk continues today, and swimmers are advised to use caution and to always have someone keeping track of swimmers from the beach.
