Roger E. Hutchison, 88, of Sheboygan, passed away Monday, August 28, 2023, at Aurora Sheboygan County Medical Center.
Born July 5, 1935, in Sheboygan County, Roger was a son of the late Edward and Melitta Walter Hutchison. He attended local schools and graduated from Plymouth High School. Roger was previously married to Betty Novak. On June 25, 1993, Roger was united in marriage to Gale Zahn Fischer. They celebrated 30 years of marriage in June.
Roger worked as an auto mechanic for most of his life, working at Salzwedel’s for many years, and then Wallo’s Auto Service, in Howards Grove, until his retirement in 2003. On Friday nights, you could find Roger bowling at The Playdium with his bowling league. He also helped on the pit crew for Donny Schmitt at the Sheboygan County Fairgrounds/Racetrack in Plymouth. Roger enjoyed going up north to various resorts for fishing, boating, and water skiing with family. During winter, he enjoyed deer hunting with family and friends for many years. In his later years, Roger took up golfing and played as much as he could. Roger’s greatest joy was the time spent with his family and friends. No matter what, you could always find him tinkering on multiple projects in his garage and having endless knowledge on many things.
Roger is survived by his wife, Gale Hutchison; 4 daughters, Linda (Tom) Wiegand, Julie (Lance) Moths, Valerie (Dan) Dittrich, and Gail (Rich) Marco, all of Sheboygan; stepsons, Edward Fischer, of Fond Du Lac, and Christopher Fischer, of Sheboygan; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his sister, Dorothy (Stan) Ketchmark, Omaha, NE; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
