Harold H. Stein, 90, of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023 surrounded by family at
Aurora Medical Center, Sheboygan. Born on March 5, 1933 in Newton to the late Arthur and Rosa (Baer)
Stein Sr.
Harold was united in holy matrimony to Marcy Leonhard on August 8, 1953 at St. Wendel Catholic
Church. He was a life-long member of St. Wendel Catholic Church (now at St. Thomas the Apostle),
where he enjoyed helping with various tasks and ministries.
He was employed at Kohler Company for 43 years and Wunsch Farm for 26 years. Harold loved
gardening, card playing, fishing and playing baseball. Above all he cherished spending time with his
family especially his grand and great grandchildren.
Harold is survived by his wife of 70 years, his children John (Michele) Stein of DePere, WI, Lynn
(William) Garber of Pea Ridge, AR, Susan (Steve) Wilson of Sheboygan, WI, Scott (Mary) Stein of Pea
Ridge, AR, Renee (Michael) Bruckschen of Cleveland, WI, Jodi (David) Melvin of St. Cloud, WI, and
Amy Stein of Valencia, CA; his daughter-in-law Laura Stein of Green Bay, WI; 23 grandchildren Adam
(fiancée Andrea) Stein, Jason Stein, Lindsey (Joel) Widmer, Heather (Reid) Harding, Nicole (Jason)
Topping, Brian Garber, Kevin Garber, Lucas (Tiffany) Wilson, Travis (Eva) Wilson, Nicholas Wilson,
Curtis Wilson, Marcus Wilson, Thomas Wilson, Lacey (Chris) Andringa, Katie Stein, Scott (Courtney) La
Dow, Shannon LaDow, Megan (Jason) Rammer, Sarah (Kevin) Emmerich, Matthew Bruckschen, Jordan
(Andrew) House, Justin Melvin and Emma (Alec) Compton; 26 great-grandchildren; his siblings
Rosemary (Clyde) Weiland, Arthur Stein Jr., Joan (Michael) Ostertag, Rosann Hermans and Karen Junk;
his in-laws Nancy Stein, Rosie Hickman, Gertie Leonhard, Margaret Kramer, Wally Leonhard and Genny
(Ralph) Kramer; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Kevin Stein, siblings, Raymond (Virginia) Stein, Maryann
(Jerry) Kreps, Lucille (Joseph) Binder, Father Norbert Stein, Margaret Stein, Kenneth Stein; in-laws,
Clemens (Myra) Leonhard, Joseph (Patricia) Leonhard, Norman Hickman, Arnold Kramer, Rosemary
Leonhard, Steve Hermans and Elizabeth Stein.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 1, 2023 at 11:00AM at St. Thomas
the Apostle Catholic Church, 8100 Brunner Rd, Newton. The family will greet visitors at the CHURCH
on Friday, September 1, 2023, from 9:00AM – 11:00AM. Father Dave Beaudry is officiating. Internment
will occur at St. Wendel Catholic Cemetery, Cleveland.
The family would like to thank Father Dave, the staff at Aurora Medical Center, Aurora Hospice and
Aurora Home Care for their care and compassion of Harold.
