Glenn L. Kerchefske, 90, of Sheboygan, passed away Saturday morning, August 26, 2023 at the Shores of Sheboygan where he had been residing.
Born October 11, 1932, in Manitowoc, Glenn was a son of the late Paul and Goldie Schindel Kerchefske. He attended Manitowoc area schools and graduated from Lincoln High School. He went on to serve his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean war. On April 17, 1954, he was united in marriage to Beverly A. Denk at Blessed Sacrament Church in Norfolk, VA. They were married for 45 years before Beverly preceded him in death on January 17, 2000.
Glenn was the service manager at Saunders Leasing for 30 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Sheboygan Elk’s Lodge #299. He was a master woodworker in the art of intarsia woodworking. He also enjoyed hunting and traveling in his motor home.
He is survived by his daughter, Lynn (Bill) Velier, St. Louis, MO; his grandson, Jon Velier; a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Kerchefske; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parent and wife, Beverly, he was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Taylor; his brothers Earl and Phil Kerchefske; and a nephew, William Taylor, Jr.
According to his wishes, there will be no services or visitation. Inurnment will take place in the Gardens of Peace Mausoleum.
Because of Glenn’s love for cats, donations in his name may be made to the Sheboygan County Humane Society, 3209 N. 21st Street, Sheboygan, WI 53083.
The family would like to thank Glenn’s niece, Lisa Taylor Boerner, Lynn Schwensow, and Jenny Spittel, and the staff of The Shores of Sheboygan and Allay Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Glenn’s arrangements.
