There’s an uptick in vehicle entries, and not just in Sheboygan. The Sheboygan Police Department is reporting the thefts across several neighborhoods recently, and virtually all of them were the result of the thieves finding vehicles either with the keys left in them, or running while unattended. The SPD is recommending that vehicles be locked, windows up, and the keys be taken when you leave it, even when in your own driveway or garage. Also, valuables should be removed, or else kept in the trunk before being taken into the home.
A similar message was sent out on Wednesday by the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office, which noted that several surrounding jurisdictions were also experiencing thefts from vehicles.
