There’s not been any statistical change in drought conditions across Sheboygan County, and the state in general is experiencing much the same.
As was the case a week ago, just over 26 percent of people in Sheboygan County are experiencing a moderate drought. with the remainder abnormally dry, and with virtually no rainfall in the past week, we remain 18 hundredths of an inch below normal for the year.
Somewhere between a tenth and a quarter of an inch of rain is hoped for over the next seven days, but forecasters say that the drought is likely to persist for the time being.
The National Weather Service says Wisconsin’s drought reached a peak on August 8th when nearly 18 percent of the state was in either extreme or exceptional drought conditions, the worst since July of 2012.
