Keith M. Brunner, 80, of Sheboygan, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at LakeHouse Sheboygan where he had been residing.
Born July 5, 1943 in Stetsonville, WI, Keith was a son of the late Elmer and Marie Matri Brunner. He attended area schools and graduated from Medford High School in 1961. On June 9, 1962, he was united in marriage to Patricia A. Smedegard in Medford.
Keith worked in the engine plant and later as a machinist and maintenance for the Kohler Company for 42 years before his retirement and was a member of the Quarter Century Club He was also member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church where he served as an usher. He loved going to the races and all things NASCAR. He even served as a national board member for NASCAR. He enjoyed photography and making personalized cards for birthday’s and other occasions. One of his greatest joys was collecting beer cans and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Patricia; his children, Mitchel Brunner and Troy Brunner, both of Sheboygan; his nine grandchildren, Arron Brunner, Courtney (Ryan) Daily, Katlyn Brunner, Andrew (Brooke) Brunner, Samantha Brunner, Sterling Brunner, Joseph (Stellina) Brunner, Preston Brunner, and Atom Brunner; 11 great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law, Jeannine Cullen; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Steven, Craig, and Kyle; his brother, Duane; and his four sisters, Lana (Floyd) Davis, Linda Brunner, Gloria Burrus, and Donna Blazel.
A memorial service for Keith will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, 1810 N. 13th Street, Sheboygan. Family and friends are welcome at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
A memorial fund has been established in his name.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of LakeHouse Sheboygan, especially Sara, and the nurses and staff of the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for all of their loving care and support.
The Olson Funeral Home & Cremation Service has been entrusted with Keith’s arrangements.
