The Safe Drinking Water Loan P
Under the SDWLP, loans are made available by the DNR to improve public drinking water systems, and in the Village of Cascade, this would involve the construction of Well Number 3 and its pumphouse, as well as replacing water meters within the village.
The activities related to the project are classified as “minor actions” under the Wisconsin Administrative Code, for which no environmental analysis is required. However, following the Safe Drinking Water Loan Program, an environmental review must be conducted under federal requirements before funding can go forward.
The SDWLP has determined that the project won’t result in significant adverse environmental effects, and no further environmental review or analysis is needed before proceeding with project funding. The public is encouraged to submit comments regarding that decision and the potential environmental impacts of the project by September 5th to:
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.
