Donald Carl Guenther passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility in
Plymouth, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on January 2, 1933, a raised in Batavia, WI, by his parents, Erich and Adela (Schultz)
Guenther, along with his brothers, Spencer and Eugene, and sister, Marian Krahn, all of whom are now
deceased.
Don graduated from Random Lake High School and then Lakeland College in 1955. He also studied at
Marquette University during evening hours while working his full time jobs. He was employed at Allis
Chalmers and Faustel for many years.
During this time, Don traveled quite a bit, which he dearly loved. He enjoyed different cultures, foods,
languages, and people. He will always be remembered as an avid reader and known for his unusual
sense of humor. He loved to laugh!
Don married Marge Oehlschlager and together they had 4 sons: Tim, Jeff, Bill, and Louis. Don is the
grandfather to Erich Guenther of Muskego, WI and Jenna (Joe) Blommel of Beaufort, SC.
In 1997, Don and Kay Dickmann married in Las Vegas. Together they owned and operated City Streets
Antiques in Sheboygan and also Welcome Home Retirement Living in Sheboygan and Sheboygan Falls.
Don and Kay enjoyed their summer home in Cascade, WI, on Long Lake and their winter residence in
Rogers, AR.
Don had many great memories of his youth growing up on the farm, fixing old cars, baseball with the
guys, and painting houses in the summer while in college with his buddy, Jerry.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held on Monday (August 21, 2023) at the Suchon Funeral Home in
Plymouth. Visitation will take place from 11:30am-1:00pm, with a prayer service to follow at 1:00pm.
