WASHINGTON, DC (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers knotted up their series with the Nationals following a 6-4 victory in DC on Tuesday night.
Freddy Peralta earned the win after surrendering three runs on six hits while striking out seven batters over six innings. Devin Williams earned his 27th save of the season with a clean ninth inning.
Brice Turang and Joey Wiemer each drove in a pair of runs for Milwaukee, which improved to 58-50.
CJ Abrams went two-for-four with two RBI for Washington, which fell to 45-63.
The series wraps up Wednesday afternoon with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 11:30am.
Meanwhile, the Brewers are shaking up their pitching staff. The team sent Peter Strzelecki to the Diamondbacks in exchange for Andrew Chafin. Chafin is 2-3 this season with a 4.19 ERA in 43 relief appearances. He also has 49 strikeouts in 34-plus innings. In a following move, Milwaukee sent Luis Urias to the Red Sox for pitching prospect Bradley Blalock. The 22-year-old is 6-1 with a 2.19 ERA in Boston’s two Class-A affiliates this season.
