A couple stopped in a stolen pickup truck near Cedar Grove early last Thursday has more than just that crime to account for. The Manitowoc County Sheriff’s Office started that pursuit early Thursday morning after a pickup truck was stolen in Manitowoc and headed south into Sheboygan County. The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office was called and eventually used stop strips and took the occupants into custody.
The Manitowoc County DA has now filed charges against the operator, a 40-year-old man from Milwaukee, for operating while intoxicated, fleeing and eluding, theft of a motor vehicle and outstanding warrants. His passenger, a 38-year-old woman – also from Milwaukee – was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, possession of cocaine and possession of stolen property.
