Marliss (Heidemann) Nonhof, age 84, of Plymouth, WI, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2023 at Rocky Knoll
Health Care Facility.
Marliss was born at home in Waldo on May 6, 1939, a daughter to the late Henry W. and Jeanette C. (Brasser)
Heidemann. She attended grade school and graduated from Waldo High School in 1957.
On January 18, 1964, she married Ronald C. Nonhof at Waldo Methodist Church. They celebrated 50 years of
marriage on January 18, 2014. Ronnie passed away on December 21, 2014. The couple operated a farm outside of
Waldo until his death.
She was a member of Waldo Methodist Church, now Trinity Fellowship Church in Waldo, where she was baptized,
confirmed and married. Marliss was in Choir, Sunday school treasurer, financial secretary, financial chairman,
served on the administrative board, and auditor. She also taught Sunday school for 35 years.
She was employed at Paper Box and Specialty for 2 ½ years, Security First National Bank for 10 ½ years and then to
Waldo State Bank where she worked until retirement in 2009. She had numerous banking diplomas and received a
plaque for 50 years of banking from the Wisconsin Bankers Association.
Marliss bowled, played dartball doubles with Ronnie, made a lot of her own clothes, did flower arranging, she
loved taking care of her flower gardens, traveling and her greatest joy was dancing with Ronnie. Later she loved
coloring and going out to eat with her church group to Roadside, Friday nite gang, senior citizen diners club and
once a month ladies group. She also liked to play Bunko.
She belonged to Security First National Bank girls, and Christmas get-togethers, which she always enjoyed. She also
belonged to Uptown Social Senior Center in Sheboygan where she taught ceramics.
Marliss is survived by two sisters-in-law, Virginia Nonhof of Sheboygan Falls and Jeanne Nonhof of Plymouth;
Nephews; Godson Kevin (Joanne) Nonhof of Sheboygan, Chad Nonhof of Sheboygan Falls; special cousin and
goddaughter (who was like a daughter), Gayle (Jon Sr.) Fisher and their children, Jon Fisher Jr. of Inman, SC, Rev.
Justin (Leah) Fisher of Plymouth, Trista ( Marliss’s goddaughter) and her daughter whose third generation
goddaughter Kimberly Fisher of Plymouth; Nieces: Kelly (Steve) Mondloch of Plymouth, Carrie (David) Hellestad of
Plymouth, and Cammie Stockhausen of Iowa.
She is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews, many cousins and friends and a special cat: Caroline.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie, infant twins, parents, sister-in-law: Caroline, brother-in-law's:
Clyde Nonhof and Wayne Nonhof, one nephew: Eugene and many aunts, uncles plus two special cats: Squeaky and
Tinker.
Visitation will be held on Thursday (August 3, 2023) at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 10:00 AM –
11:30 AM; with a funeral service to follow at 11:30 AM. Pastor Justin Fisher, Pastor of Revolution Church, will
officiate. Burial will be in the Waldo Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Marliss name for Trinity Fellowship Church in Waldo.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff of Rocky Knoll Health Care Facility for their love and
care and also to the Sharon S. Richardson Hospice for all they did to care for Marliss.
