MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers staged a late comeback, but fell short in a 4-3 loss to the Cincinnati Reds at American Family Field on Tuesday night.
The Brewers trailed 4-0 in the bottom of the ninth until Christian Yelich blasted a three-run homer to pull within one. Alexis Diaz came into the game and recorded the final out for the Reds to cut the rally short.
Andrew Abbott earned the win for the Reds after striking out nine batters and surrendering seven hits over six scoreless innings.
Corbin Burnes suffered the loss for Milwaukee, which dropped to 56-46. Despite the loss, the Brewers lead Cincinnati by half a game for first place in the NL Central.
