MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers took their series opener against the Cincinnati Reds in dramatic fashion with a 3-2 walk off win at American Family Field on Monday night.
The game was tied at two runs apiece in the ninth inning until Christian Yelich singled-home the game winning run.
Sal Frelick slugged his first career home run in the sixth inning while William Contreras also drove in a run.
Alexis Diaz took the loss after giving up the game-winning single to Yelich. Elly De La Cruz crushed a two-run homer for Cincy, which had its five-game winning streak snapped.
Milwaukee improved to 56-45 and now leads the Reds by a game-and-a-half for first place in the NL Central.
