Jane DenBoer, 76, of Sheboygan, passed away peacefully at Sharon S. Richardson
Community Hospice on July 20, 2023.
Jane LaTarte was born to Emery & Janet (Baarendse) LaTarte on July 29, 1946, in
Sheboygan.
On August 10, 1968, Jane married James R. DenBoer. James preceded Jane in death on
March 22, 2018.
Jane was a member of Hope Church, volunteered in many capacities and served as a
dedicated custodian for many years. In her free time, Jane enjoyed gardening, sewing,
cheering on the Milwaukee Bucks, cooking, and will be best remembered for her famous
seven layer and potato salads. She enjoyed going to luncheons with her girlfriends and
any opportunity to have a party. Above all, she cherished time with her family and
friends.
Jane is survived by a daughter, Laura (Christopher) McBrair of Menasha; a son, Steven
(Kelly) DenBoer of Sheboygan; four dear grandchildren, Dain and Gavin McBrair and
Rebecca(Jacob) Immel, and Joshua DenBoer; sisters, Nancy Hilbelink of Oostburg, Gail
(Greg) Grube of Cleveland, sisters-in-law, Nancy Salm of Cleveland, Mary Bender of
Plymouth, Johanna (Philip) Dulmes of Oostburg; brothers-in-law, John (Judy) DenBoer
of Cedar Grove and Alan (Deb) DenBoer of Pembine, Mike Smrekar of Janesville;
sisters-in-law, Diane DenBoer of Oostburg; and many nieces and nephews, other
relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, parents, sister, Deb
Smrekar, parents-in-law, beloved brothers and sisters-in-law, and other beloved family.
A funeral service to honor Jane’s life will take place on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Hope
Church in Sheboygan at 12:00 pm. Visitation will take place at church from 10:00 am
until the time of service at 12:00 pm. Entombment will conclude at the Gardens of Peace
Mausoleum in Kohler.
Memorial contributions can be made in her name to Hope Church.

S. Richardson Community Hospice for their love and compassionate care.
Jane was passionate, generous, and had a great sense of humor. With her famous signoff
in mind, “With a tear in my eye, I say goodbye”, she will be dearly missed and forever
cherished.
