PHILADELPHIA, PA (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers evened up their series with the Phillies following a 5-3 win in Philadelphia on Wednesday night.
Hoby Milner earned the win after pitching a scoreless inning of relief.
William Contreras doubled-home the go-ahead run in the seventh inning to seal the victory.
The Phillies’ Jeff Hoffman got the loss after surrendering one run while recording four outs in relief.
Kyle Schwarber drove in a pair of runs while Nick Castellanos launched a solo homer. The Philliess dropped to 52-43 and are second in the NL East.
Milwaukee improved to 53-43 and continue to occupy first place in the NL Central.
The rubber match of this three-game series take place Thursday afternoon with pregame coverage starting at 11am.
