Students in Lakeshore Technical College’s radiography and medical assistant programs have a 100% certification rate, well above the national averages.
LTC’s most recent class saw all nine radiography students pass their American Registry of Radiologic Technologists exams, as well as all six medical assistant students pass their Certified Medical Assistant-American Association of Medical Assistants exams. Since 2018, LTC pass rate for the radiography exam has been between 91.7% and 100%, compared with a national average of 83.8% to 89.4%. And for medical assistant certification, LTC rates have ranged from 80% to 100%, while national rates were between 60 and 64%.
All the graduates have secured employment with the majority working within the Lakeshore district according to Associate Dean of Nursing Lori Hertel, who said it speaks to both the achievement of the graduates and the high quality of instruction provided by both faculty and staff.
