Karen Ann Lindekugel, 82, of Sheboygan, passed away on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at Songbird Pond in Plymouth. She was born March 31, 1941 in Sheboygan to the late Marvin and Irene (Bohlmann) Schmidt. Karen graduated from Howards Grove High School with the Class of 1959.
In 1960 she was united in marriage to Fred Barts, he preceded her in death in 1972. On September 12, 1995 she was united in marriage to Allan Lindekugel, they celebrated 21 years together. He preceded her in death on February 12, 2016. Karen worked at State Bank of Howards Grove as a teller for many years. She then went to Bitter Neuman and work in the office until retiring in 2001.
Karen enjoyed doing crossword puzzles. She had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed spending time in her yard gardening, camping, and fishing. Traveling with Allan was a favorite pastime of hers. Karen was musically talented and could sit down at her keyboard and play by ear.
Karen is survived by her brother Gerald (Diane) Schmidt, step-sons; Ben (Bill) Lindekugel and Todd (Lisa) Lindekugel, step-grandchildren, Danielle Lindekugel, Cindy (Dave) Hansman, and Ashley (Nathan) Kapallen, step-greatgrandchildren, Savanah, Hunter and Hazel. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands Fred Barts and Allan Lindekugel, step-daughter Tami Lomibao, and sister Janet Fritz.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 441 Millersville Ave., Howards Grove, with Pastor Aaron Mueller officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. Paul’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday, July 14, 2023 from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the CHURCH.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center in Karen’s name.
