Richard C. “Dick” Mauer, age 67, passed away peacefully at home on July 2, 2023.
He was born in Sheboygan on March 30, 1956, a son of the late Eugene and Beverly (Morken) Mauer.
Dick attended grade schools and high school in Sheboygan Falls.
He began working as a lineman for H&H Utilities and Sheboygan Falls Utilities before starting RCM
Carpentry and becoming a highly successful general contractor. He restored The Osthelder Saloon and
The Villager restaurant along with many other buildings in Sheboygan Falls. His exceptional work earned
him Best Historic Rehabilitation Project of the Year in 1994, and Designer/Builder of the Year Award of
Excellence in 1995 from the Wisconsin Main Street Association. Dick was also the man behind the
walkways over the dunes, spectator amenities and pro-golfer buildings that were constructed for the
first PGA Championship at Whistling Straits in 2004, something he was very proud of.
In 1987, he married Elizabeth Richardson and became a dedicated stepfather to her son, Clint. In 1988,
they welcomed their daughter Carolyn.
In 2015, he married Beth Walsh, who was always by his side and helped take care of Dick until the end.
Dick was a social, fun-loving and creative man with an outsized personality and sense of humor, who
always thought outside the box, but most of the time there wasn’t really a box in his mind. He enjoyed
repairing small engines, snowmobiling, Mopars, dirt bikes, trips to Chicago, architecture, pizza, the
Milwaukee Bucks, boating on Lake Michigan in his Chris-Craft, music and playing the drums, and loved
his dogs, Sadie and Reever, and his horse, Chance.

Vogel, Isabelle Galvin, Charlie Galvin, and Madison Johnson; Siblings: Gene (Eugene) Perronne, Anthony
(Mary Jens) Mauer, Andrew Mauer, Thomas (Patty) Mauer, and Paul Mauer; As well as many nieces,
