Wayne Jay Ruesink, 95, of Cedar Grove, went Home to be with our Lord, on
Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Gables on the Pond.
Wayne was born to John and Lizzie (Nyenhuis) Ruesink on June 27, 1928. He
attended Cedar Grove High School. Wayne was united in marriage to Dorothy
Janisse on September 28, 1950, in Oostburg.
Wayne was a hardworking man with an adventurous spirit. He owned Ruesink
Plumbing and Heating and did service work well into his 80’s. Through the years,
he stayed active with his many hobbies which included golf, bowling, photography,
and fishing. But he found his favorite pastimes later in life were camping and
building miniature engines. He was a great family man who always put his girls
first. Even as his health was fading, his first concern was how his family was doing.
Wayne is survived by his four daughters, Karen (Dave) Watry of Cedar Grove, Linda
Juozapaitis of Tucson, AZ, Sandy (Tom) Schneider of Glenbeulah, Barb (Mark)
Jungers of Van Dyne; 11 grandchildren, John (Sanya) DeBlaey, Scott (Emily) Watry,
Jill (J.P.) Kastner, Mike (Elizabeth) Watry, Joy (Brian) Larisey, Zoe Juozapaitis,
Nathan Hausler, Breanna Hausler, Cole Jungers, Justin Jungers, and Luke Jungers;
14 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Marilyn DeBlaey of Oostburg. He was
further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Wayne was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Susan DeBlaey
and Jane Ruesink; granddaughter, Abby Hausler; parents; parents-in-law; sisters,
Faye (Norman) DeBlaey and Arlene (Wally) Veldboom; and brothers-in-law, Donald
(Pearl), Lloyd (Helen), and Norman (Bette) Janisse.
A private funeral service to celebrate Wayne’s life will be held.
A public visitation will be held at First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove on
Monday, July 10, 2023, from 4:00 until 7:00pm.
Memorials are appreciated to Make a Wish Foundation, in honor of his two great-
grandchildren, who have battled childhood cancer.
Wayne’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Gables on
the Pond and Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their compassionate
care.
