MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Milwaukee Brewers fell to the Arizona Diamondbacks 9-1 in their series opener at American Family Field on Monday night.
Corbin Burnes got the loss after surrendering seven runs on eight hits over five innings. He gave up six of those runs in the first inning.
Christian Yelich drove in the lone run for Milwaukee, which finished with just three hits on the night. The Brewers are now in second place in the NL Central, a half game behind the Cincinnati Reds.
Game two of the three-game set takes place Tuesday night with pregame coverage on WHBL beginning at 6:35.
