Pet owners in the City of Sheboygan may soon have more options for enjoying the outdoors without the need for a leash. Sheboygan’s Pet-Friendly Task Force has been working to make the city a better place for people with four-legged family members, and is recommending the full Council approve their recommendation.
Currently, unleashed pets are only allowed in an area of Lakeview Park Beach enclosed by a snow fence, and on City-owned property east of Lakeshore Road north of the Pigeon River, within the Pigeon River Environmental Corridor. If approved tonight, those options will expand to include City-owned property on the northwest corner of the 9th and Center Avenue intersection across from City Hall, and also at the Sheboygan Dog Run Park at 4108 South 18th Street.
