MILWAUKEE, WI (WHBL) – The Oakland A’s earned their first sweep of the season with an 8-6 victory over the Brewers in Milwaukee on Sunday afternoon.
JP Sears got the win after giving up two runs on six hits while striking out five batters over five innings of work. Seth Brown blasted a three-run homer while Brent Rooker and Kevin Smith also hit homers for the A’s.
Oakland improved to 17-50 and is still in last place in the AL West.
Christian Yelich slugged his eighth homer of the season for Milwaukee, which has lost four straight games.
Freddy Peralta got the loss after surrendering four runs over five innings pitched.
The Brew Crew are now second in the NL Central at 34-32, a game behind Pittsburgh.
The Brewers have Monday off before they head to Minnesota for a quick two-game series against the Twins starting Tuesday night.
