For most of the hundreds that will gather in cap and gown on Saturday, the past 13 years have had one overriding theme – education. But now it’s time for each to exercise their choice to continue that journey through college, or apply their education and skills to the working world. Or maybe not. High school graduation brings those choices to the table, and seniors from Sheboygan Central, Etude, North, South, and George Warriner High Schools will collect with their families to celebrate and “walk the bowl” at Vollrath Park for a 2 p.m. ceremony that’s been going on since the mid 20th century.
Weather forecasts have changed favorably over the past week, and Saturday may be nearly ideal with a mix of sun and clouds, a light breeze, temperatures in the low 70s, and with any much-needed rain holding off until early morning Sunday.
Those wishing to get an early spot may set a tarp or blanket at the park no earlier than 6 a.m. tomorrow, and City ordinances prohibit tobacco, alcohol and pets at Vollrath Bowl. Those who can’t make it can watch the proceedings via the SASD live stream.
